  1. I can also use the LM308 as opamp?

    1. I don't see why not. One has a 308, the other has a 301 so you've just got to choose which one you want to use out of the two.

    Thanks again Mark,

  3. This is a great idea. So there is the standard 3PDT bypass switch, and then a separate 3PDT to switch between the two? Would it be possible to rig it up to have an led or two to show which "mode" it is in? Or put in on a toggle switch instead maybe?

    1. I'd had in mind a 3PDT toggle when I was doing the layout, they're pretty cheap on eBay now. Footswitchable may be preferable to some people for quick switching on the fly, but you'd need a 4pdt switch for LED indication.

    2. Alright, I'm thinking about trying this one out. I'll probably just stick to the 3PDT's.

  4. Am I correct in saying that the Vol. 3 lug has TWO wires coming to it - one from the board ("Vol. 3") and one from the switch ("Sw2")?

Has anyone tried putting the LM308 in this build?

    1. Well, I haven't built this but that's what it says. :)
One from the board and one from sw2, to vol3.

  5. I built this one and can barely tell the difference between the two fuzzes. Should I start troubleshooting it or are the two really that close in sound? FWIW, it sounds great as is but the switch appears to serve no purpose.

    1. I agree. I could not hear any difference. I suspect that the ic and or transistor difference is where it would become apparent. To save space and material I am jumping the appropriate points to go full time spitfire.
